Recently Unearthed: Thad Kopec

I'm not a music producer. Honestly, I don't know much about it. I've loved music all my life, but I don't know too much about the behind-the-scenes part of recording music. I'm not a songwriter (we're not counting the little ditties I write about bodily functions from time to time). I'm not even good with instruments. Sure, I had my fair share of marching band, piano lessons, and choir, but nothing very formal.

Sometimes when I find a new musician or group, their offerings sound rough. I don't mind listening to people who record their own music if it doesn't suck. From what I see of Thad Kopec, he's pretty new on the scene, but I really feel like his album, Heart of Man, sounds so professional. I'd never guess this is an artist that still uses Bandcamp as a main website.

He has such a great voice, it's like you can hear pain in his voice, but sweetness at the same time. That's about as poetic as I wax it, baby. Don't worry, Baby D isn't getting all touchy-feely with you today.

This is great music. I'm loving a lot of Indie stuff coming through Nashville lately.
