Recently Unearthed: Natalie Hart

Sometimes you just have to try something unexpected; you might be surprised what you find. I know... that sounds like something you'd read in a fortune cookie, but it's the truth.

In any case, recently when I was doing my normal NoiseTrade harvesting, I downloaded Natalie Hart's EP. As a music hoarder, in the last year I've set myself some boundaries for downloading because I just have too much music. Having too much music sounds impossible, but it's not. I have so many songs and duplicates and randomness that it sometimes keeps me from being able to enjoy my iPod. I spend all day skipping over songs that aren't for me to find ones that are. Because of this, I'd told myself that when downloading I needed to take more time to preview music or at least read about the artist before blindly downloading.

On NoiseTrade, the artists usually have a small "sounds like" section, which is probably what got me to download this EP because the description of jazz/blues/pop would have gotten me to turn my head immediately. But, download I did and let me just say, I have listened to these 3 songs over and over and over.

Natalie's style is totally not my style of music, but I can't stop listening. She has a really great voice. You should check her out.

This song isn't part of her EP, but I like to try to include a video:
