Past Rambling: January 2007

Life Lessons from a Grocery Store

So, I learned some important stuff today while visiting my new favorite grocery store.

I thought I would share:

1.  Just because cheese is $17 per pound and they are giving away free samples of it at the grocery store, does not mean it tastes good*.

*When tasting really expensive cheese for the first time, you should have an evacuation procedure in place because vomiting in the middle of the deli department of an upscale grocery store is frowned upon.

2.  Pesto may be fancy and stuff, but it really doesn't taste that good.  In fact, I think chewed up cigarettes may taste better.  Even after eating other things and brushing your teeth several times, it is hard to get the nastiness out of your mouth.

But, on the positive side:

1.  Organic fruit may cost more than adopting a child from Namibia, but it is a hell of a lot better than the crap you buy at the Thriftway.

2.  Even though organic food from an overpriced grocery store costs more, you can fool yourself into thinking it is ok to eat it and pay that much for it because somehow it will make you healthier.
