Here's an obscure one for you. I was watching this movie, Frozen River. It's not a bad movie, but one of those kind of downers that makes you kind of feel better about yourself by the end because your dad maybe isn't as big of a loser as the guy this movie is about. Anyway, at the end, this song comes on with some of the strangest lyrics I've ever heard. It grabs me full on by the ears and I ended up rewinding and rewatching the credits over and over as I frantically searched the web for the song.
Turns out Goldcard is one of those "made up" bands that existed for a nanosecond and is now non-existent. You can read more at In Music We Trust. I could repeat what they say, but why bother?
Finally, I located a free download of the song. (Anyone can PAY for a song!) I just think it's about one of the most awesome songs ever.
